I was thrilled about trying these out. I opened it up, carefully loaded it with linens, and tried very carefully to follow directions. But I couldn't get the air sucked out. Then I noticed: gigantic rip in the bottom. When and how that happened, I have no idea. Cheap materials. I do not recommend!!...

Do NOT buy this product -- Poor Quality
The plastic that these bags are made of is way too thin to be practical. The bags rip very easily, even when used exactly as the manufacturer specifies. For the money you pay for what is essentially a plastic seal-lock bag with a valve, you'd think you would get a bag that utilized a thicker sheet of plastic. Also, the bags do not keep their seal. The valve itself can keep the air in after the air is vacuumed out, but not over an extended period of time. Perhaps the manufacturer could make ...

Worked Fine
I packed the bag with a lot of clothes and made sure to leave room for the zipper. The zipper sealed fine and the bag shrunk without a problem.
