I drive my cars like their rentals. With that being said, I've previously owned a Escort / Passport; I had read enough online about Whistler products to know I wanted to try it. Although the 690 is an older model, I liked the fact I could control the volume on it. In fact, I can set it to have visual alerts only so that I can be alerted to hazards while the family sleeps peacefully. A Great Buy
I got this detector for a cross country trip I was taking. Worked perfectly. Have been using it around town and it works really well. This might sound stupid but I really like the fact that it has a compass on it. For the price this is a really great buy.
