I have used the Reliance Controls PB30 L14-30 30 Amp Generator Power Cord Inlet Box For Up To 7,500 Watt Generators with an Interlock Kit to convert my home electrical panel to a Manual transfer switch.

The box is very convenient to provide an hook up for a portable generator. The other type boxes I have used require mounting two boxes together - this is much easier. One can also use an 90 deg. LB to make the installation easier.

very sturdy box, easy to mount, and the plug will accept 8 gauge wire if you are so inclined (as I was).
