The Olympus SP-550 UZ 7.1 MP digital camera offers a 18x zoom lens and 5.6x digital zoom. It uses xD Picture Card memory cards, and its CCD resolution is 3072 x 2304. This camera also takes movies with sound, and has a built-in microphone. The Olympus SP-550 UZ has a 2.5" LCD for viewing and taking photos, and you can manually adjust the shutter & aperture. Its fastest shutter speed is 1/2000 second, up to a maximum exposure time of 15 seconds, and you can shoot 1.2 frames/second continuously. It has a built-in internal flash as well as a self timer. Exceptional camera
I bought this camera for my husband for underwater. The camera is top of the line. He loves it. The only problem I have now is that the underwater housing for this camera was been discontinued before I could buy one. Olympus should give some kind of date on how long their products will be available. I would have gone with another camera if I had known. Now I'm searching for the housing. Found some online but reviews are terrible for these online stores....

Rip Off
I bought this camera 11 months ago. From time to time, I've had to turn it off and re-power it to get rid of error messages. About two weeks ago, I tried to use it and kept getting "Zoom Error" messages before it quickly shut itself off. I sent it to Olympus and they advised me the rim of the lens was scuffed, claiming I had dropped it and voided the warranty. They wanted $181.28 (almost 2/3 the original cost) to repair it!
