The 7.2 MP Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 (silver) provides a 12x zoom lens and 2x digital zoom. It uses Memory Stick Duo Media/Memory Stick Pro Duo Media memory cards, and its CCD resolution is 3072 x 2304. This camera also takes movies with sound, and has a built-in microphone. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 has a 3" LCD screen (measured along the diagonal) on the back for composing pictures, and you can manually adjust the shutter & aperture. Sony DSC-H5 : nice features, but poor reliability and support
I got the DSC-H5 in 2006, and liked the features and performance, except for the slow shutter lag, but even that could be partially offset with prefocusing by pressing the shutter button halfway. Not any more. The switch for the pre-focus no longer works since about a year ago, and Sony refuses to acknowledge that there is a defective part - even though hundreds of owners have complained online and to the company about this problem, caused by a bad switch. GREAT FUN... BIG SCREEN... A PLUS
Have used this camera for three years now. Getting familiar took time, so shoot, shoot, shoot, before your big event. Also keep in mind the bigger the memory card, the longer it takes for camera to access. Which I didn't realize when I purchased a 16 GB card. But it enables me to edit endlessly on camera. Overall it's great, just not instantly able to shoot. I have to leave it turned on, so you'll need good rechargeable batteries, and charger. (another review....) If you don't shoot hundre...

Great camera, but eats batteries
