Great but pricey for DX shooters, a no-brainer for FX shooters Why should FX shooters be interested in this DX lens when Nikon already makes a 14-24 f/2.8G lens for you? Because this lens allows you to zoom down to about 15mm before you run out of "image circle" -- for HALF THE PRICE of the 14-24mm lens. Something to considers, especially if you're packing a DX backup body.

For DX shooters: it's a superb lens. It's optically better than Sigma's 10-20mm (though I question if it's really $400 better), and optically better than Nikon's 12-24mm f/4 lens ... –Parvenu74from Amazon.com

Very Solid, Very Light Weight, Expensive Wide Angle Zoom for DX I got this lens the other day from Amazon and had a chance to play around with it a bit. The sharpness and the straightness in the corners, upon initial inspection, don't look to be any better then the 12-24mm Nikon DX wide angle. That was largely considered inferior in every way to the Tokina 11-16mm lens, which is hard to come by and seems to have some focus problems in certain production batches. This lens is quicker then the 12-24mm in certain situations, and will go 2mm wider for essenti... –D. Sassofrom Amazon.com

Great lens if you have the money and a Nikon Nikon produces great glass and this is no exception but forget about FX sensored cameras or similar pricing in regards to Canons version of this lens. –Jose Oyolafrom Amazon.com
