22 Apr 2009 Amazingly compact telephoto lens I am very impressed by this lens. Its small, lightweight, portable, and extends to 400mm which is amazing for a lens that is so compact. It takes good photos. The only caveat is that there is some chromatic aberration which is not easily eradicated in Photoshop or Lightroom. 12 Apr 2009 Panasonic 45-200mm f/4.0-5.6 Lumix G Vario MEGA OIS Zoom Lens for Panasonic Digital SLR Cameras This was the only other dedicated micro 4/3 lens available when I bought my Lumix G1 Kit. It is in many ways an excellent lens. The major shortcomings are slow speed (4-5.6} and inaccurate autofocusing for how I use the lens. I like to photograph wildlife, particularly birds. The autofocus tends to select larger areas in the background or foreground than my chosen subjects. This problem is more a function of the camera than the lens. 01 Apr 2009 45-200 Panasonic Lumix Lens This lens came quickly from Amazon LLC and is exactly as described. The focus is fast and silent and it is small and light. The lens does a nice job of throwing the background out of focus making it great for on-location headshots. I would have loved a faster lens, even 4.0 across the spectrum would work, but for the money I really can't complain. I would recommend this lens. –Robert Saltielfrom Amazon.com
