Excellent so far I have been using this lens for a couple of weeks now. I purchased to shoot my daughter's cheerleading competition in Disney World. In fact I am sitting in the airport now waiting for my plane to Orlando, while writing this. I bought this lens to replace a Sigma 70-200mm zoom.

So far this is a much better lens. The SDM motor is great. Much faster and quieter than the motor in the SIgma (not HSM) I spent over $900 for the Sigma lens a few years ago. There is no detectible back or front fo... –Francis E. Buckleyfrom Amazon.com

Superb zoom for the K20D This is the 2nd sample of the lens, the first was decentered and could not get a sharp photo out if it despite adjusting the AF many times. Amazon sent a replacement before I even got a chance to ship the bad one back, so I had a few days to play with both to make sure the first was actually bad and it was. The 2nd copy was Far sharper and AF'ed correctly with only a minor -3 adjustment. A "prime" lens with the convenience of zoom Pros:
Image quality of a prime throughout its zoom range.
Convenience of a zoom.
Looks and feels like a pro lens
SDM focus is very quiet

Cons:
Size (relative to primes, tiny compared to 70-200mm f/2.8)
Flare when shooting at point light sources (lamps, etc)
SDM focus is a little slow

Who should buy the 50-135mm? Anyone looking for prime like rendering from a zoom that doesn't mind its largish size. Avoid the lens if you don't want to stand out like a sore thu... –E. J Tastadfrom Amazon.com
