Good Quality/Great Value This lens gives me better overall results than my Canon EF 28-135 kit lens that came with my Canon EOS 40D. I shoot a lot of sporting events, especially basketball and volleyball in not too well lit gymnasiums. The kit lens wasn't getting the job done. It gave my softer images and since I'm using a high guide number external flash unit, the auto focus was often too slow. Excellent lens, but... This is the second copy of the Tamron AF 28-75mm Di lens I ordered, both copies had front focus issues. Both severely front focus at 60mm to 75mm but at the 28mm to 50mm zoom range, focus was excellent at all apertures, very sharp pictures..I'am very satisfied just using at the 28 to 50mm range but may decide to send it back to Tamron for calibration. If they called this a 28-50mm f/2.8 Di lens it would be worth five stars... –T. Chinnfrom Amazon.com

Rock Solid I can't find a problem with this lens. Less than a 1/4 turn zooms from 28mm to 75mm smoothly and precisely. Zoom lock and autofocus switches are easy to use on the fly. The optics are very flare resistant, and focus is dead on. You won't find a better lens in this zoom range without spending a lot more money. This lens will be in my bag for many years to come. –A.
