Best work around lens at a very good price!
The copy that I got is very sharp and the image quality is just great. I must say I am very happy with this lens. This lens is best paired with D90 to compensate the lack of VC. But of course, any lower model will also produce good results. At 250mm the image is quite soft but for me it is still usable. You will hardly notice this softness when you print it.
I got my lens @ Photoworld at a very good price ($299.00). What a deal!
Thanks Amazon and Photoworld!

tamron lens 18-250 mm
I have had it too short a time to give it 5 stars.
Out of the box, this unit blew me away. easy manual zoom; sharp focus.
As with many knock-offs I have seen, the view is a little dark. Compared to my 70-200 nikon manual 3.5f (very old) this is noticeable. However, the speed corrections on the camera, even on manual settings, overwhelm any criticism.
It is very light, good tolerances from feel, and doesn't have a "cheap" feel.
The photos I have seen are crisp.

The lens is relatively light in weight (especially when compared to the newer Tamron 28-300 VR lens that my wife has on her Nikon) making taking photos a real joy. The extended zoom range makes this a great general purpose lens..i.e for most situations the only lens you will need; especially useful when traveling. The image quality has been excellent, although at extreme zoom against a very light background I o...
