06 May 2009Does what it claims, easy and intuitiveI wanted a full-featured point and shoot camera with a long zoom. The Nikon was on sale and I bought it without a lot of shopping around. I love it. 30 Apr 2009Dull PicturesI got the Nikon P80 about 10 months ago. I took a lot of pictures (in Hawaii) lately. I am very disappointed with the pictures quality. Most of the pictures are very dull and faces are very dark, even in a sunny day. I used "P" mode most of time.–S. Lewfrom Amazon.com
"The huge zoom that's been fitted to the Nikon works smoothly and not too fast. At wide angle the camera benefits from a f/2.8 aperture and only drops to f/4.5 at full zoom which is great for the 486mm focal length."
"For megazoom shooters, the Nikon Coolpix P80's 18x zoom, 27-486mm-equivalent f/2.8-4.5 lens likely sits at the top of the list of the P80's attractions. The range provides a good combination of wide-angle and telephoto views at relatively wide maximum aperture values."
