This digital camera, the 14.7 MP Canon PowerShot SD990 IS (silver), provides a 3.7x zoom lens and 4x digital zoom. It uses Secure Digital/Secure Digital High Capacity/Multimedia/Multimedia Plus memory cards, and its CCD resolution is 4416 x 3312. This camera also takes movies with sound, and has a built-in microphone. The PowerShot SD990 IS has a 2.5" diagonal LCD screen on the back. Its fastest shutter speed is 1/1600 second, up to a maximum exposure time of 15 seconds, and you can shoot 1.3 frames/second continuously. It has a built-in internal flash as well as a self timer. Not worth the extra money in my opinion
I had the SD1100IS Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Blue) and decided I was going to upgrade to the SD990IS because I liked the look of the all black camera better and it was supposed to be a better all around camera.
