Olympus has created a superior digital SLR camera with the EVOLT E-3. With its 10.1 Megapixel Live MOS sensor, you will get a highly detailed picture even with enlargements. Choose from either full manual or super-fast 11-point AF focusing. You will get an clear shot with its large 2.5" LiveView wide-angle swiveling monitor. Photos will appear amazingly clear with the vibrating dust reduction system keeping the sensor clean. Add an interchangable Four Thirds mount lens to the body and you will have infinite functionality for any situation.This digital camera, the 10.1 MP Olympus E-3 (body only), accepts Four Thirds lenses. It uses CompactFlash Type I/II/Microdrive/xD Picture Card memory cards, and its Live MOS resolution is 3648 x 2736. The Olympus E-3 has a 2.5" LCD screen (measured along the diagonal) on the back for composing pictures, and you can manually adjust the shutter & aperture. Its fastest shutter speed is 1/8000 second, up to a maximum exposure time of 60 seconds, and you can shoot 5 frames/second continuously. It has a built-in external flash plus a self timer. Fantastic The E-3 has performed fantastic and I love the colors and image quality. I love Olympus and the Four-Thirds standard and the E-3 with the 50-200mm Zuiko lens is a fantastic pairing as is the 12-60mm lens. atlantaMAXphoto Review of the Olympus E-3 The Olympus E-3, a 10.1 megapixel digital camera, is one of the top of the line professional DSLRs available. This is my primary camera, and I use two backup digital cameras and lenses, the E-510, and the E-500 for all wedding assignments.

I have several Zuiko lenses from my OM days, and I also have the digital 14-54mm wide-angle to telephoto, f/2.8-3.5, and a 40-150mm telephoto zoom.

Great camera that holds its value! I have an E-3 and bought this as a backup. I use Olympus cameras and lenses for professional work including weddings and sporting events.
High ISO is not a strong point of the system, but their glass is second to none!
The supersonic wave system on olympus works while others can only begin to try and get their dust removal system up to par.
I shot a motor vehicle accident for the local paper during a hail/ sleet storm. Camera and the 50-200mm were soaked.
