The latest model in Canon's best-selling Digital Rebel series, the 12-megapixel EOS Rebel XSi is Canon's offering for advanced amateur photographers. Whether you want a first SLR camera or a backup body for a professional Canon SLR, the XSi is a great buy, with compelling features at an affordable price. The Rebel XSi replaces the Rebel XTi, offering more megapixels, a self-cleaning sensor, and a bigger LCD screen (3 inches). At 12MP, the Rebel XSi makes it possible to print photo-quality images in poster size, or crop pictures down substantially. The Rebel XSi was released in both kit and body-only packaging in late April 2008. The body has been redesigned to be more ergonomic, and the camera includes a powerful DIGIC III image processor. It is compatible with SD and SDHC memory cards, and uses a Canon lens mount.
