Great looking but doesn't fit larger laptops
I don't agree that this bag is way too big, because it's made to be a laptop bag and not a handbag so it should be bigger. I think this bag is beautiful. However, it is NOT 18" wide at the top, and to fit a large laptop that's kind of important. It is 18 inches at the bottom so technically the description is accurate. But the bag has a slight A-line to it that isn't easy to spot in the pictures here.
Totally happy
I saw this item in the store, but the price seemed too high for what the tote should go for. Found the exact same item on Amazon.com. The price was great, and the tote was delivered as promised. The bag is perfect for a college student, with compartments to handle accessories. Good looking and easy to carry.

May be used as a parachute in case of emergency
I completely agree with the other reviewer. This bag is massive. It looks nice in the picture - but no - it's huge. I decided to test it out and put my laptop in it - the bag was so big my 15" laptop moved from side to side and up and down. I went to Target - found a lovely, smaller, tote bag for $25 - padded just as well as this one and holds my laptop better in place. Remember too if you're someone that does carry a lot of things this bag only has three compartments so you cannot use that...
