It is simple and it works
I use it to share a mouse and a keyboard between two PCs (both XP-window Pro). Since it only comes with one USB cable, you will need an additional cable for the second PC as well as a USB hub if more than one USB devices are to be shared (like in my case a mouse and a keyboard). The set up is super simple and it works as advertised....

Just what I needed...works exactly as expected and needed.
I have 2 PC's that share a single USB printer.
Causes more problems than it solves.
