Apricorn EZ Writer LS is PERFECT for Acer Aspire One 10.1 Five stars is an understatement! It performed flawlessly installing the Nero software and backing up the eRecovery system files and driver/apps on 2+1 DVD+R discs! The Nero 8 Essentials software has the Lightscribe software integrated in the CoverDesiger function. The unit is compatible with a long list of DVD and CD disc formats. Wonderful Little Drive PERFECT for Acer Aspire One This is a great little DVD/CD reader/writer drive. Mine worked fine right out of the box, no software installation required. It will run on USB power alone OR if you'd like, it ALSO has an regular AC cord. I haven't used the AC cord, but it's nice to know that I have it just in case... It also comes with a nice black pouch to store/transport and protect it and a SHORT USB cord (but functional). Good stuff.

I am going to return this Problem 1-it is not technically mac compatible. i called the service center, and they weren't sure either. the lightscribe print-on-disc feature (seems very cool) doesn't work.
Problem 2-the disc tray doesn't close right. the whole drive seems cheap.
Problem 3-for a couple days it worked great, but not anymore. i have wasted 12 discs trying to find the magic combination of settings to get it to work...nada.
