What can I say? I really hoped this would be a fantastic piece of kit yet here I am writing to complain bitterly about it.
Easy set-up but a bit noisy
I was shopping for a storage device to back up all of my data from my 3 computers (1 running mac os x, 1 running windows 7, 1 running xp) and my wife's laptop (vista) so some type of device sharable between multiple devices was a necessity. Initially I was thinking about buying a larger drive and putting it in my home server but came across the iomega device on sale when walking through a local store. Backup for all in the family
First thing I did was dump the backup software that came with the unit and purchased Goodsync... excellent combination in software and hardware. I would recommend this network drive for the storage size and speed but wish the fan didn't run all the time. Just concerned for the long term use... mine has been in use for over a month now.
