The LaCie was recommended to me and I agree wholeheartedly! Like it's name, it's Rugged and you don't have to worry about it getting knocked around a little in your work bag, etc. Easy to use with my Macbook too. Just connect and start copying over!

Good, but read the fine print
I love the rugged la cie. Its worked well so far, and the transfer times are pretty good for a portable HD. However, READ THE FINE PRINT! Though La Cie is a company geared toward Macs, their free online backup for a year inexplicably only works for Windows! This was one of the reasons I chose this product in the first place, but since I have a Mac its worthless. Yes, I am to blame for not reading the fine print, but still....La Cie caters to Macs.
