So far, 3 of 4 have failed
Pro: Well, as the specs indicate it's large ... that's the pro!
Cons: They fail! One drive dead out out of the box, another lasted 1 month, the third made it all the way to 6 months before dying.
Service option: Take to local place for data recovery (AND PAY FOR IT MYSELF) and then have it returned to Seagate - only then, they will ship a replacement. Or, you can pay $20 for an advance exchange - that's after you've paid the extraordinary data recovery fees.

Seagate FreeAgent Desk 1 TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive ST310005FDA2E1-RK (Silver)
The hard drive has worked perfectly. I only buy Seagate hard drives, because they perform excellently and have a 5-year warranty. Highly recommended!

Seagate Backup
Purchased Seagate FreeAgent Desk 1TB 2.0 Port External Hard Drive. Have had it about a month. Was surprised at how easy it was to setup and use. I backup both my desktop and my laptop. Setup to do it about once a week, but only do it when I actually hook it up to the computer. It is totally automatic now, and senses when I plug in and will do the backup if I miss. 1TB is way more than I need, even for 2 computers as I'm probably only currently using about 8% of the total storage capacity, ...
