When shopping for external hard drives one is bound to hear the name Lacie. The Oregon-based vendor has always produced quality external drives for various applications. The drive we received has carried on the Lacie legacy.
Works As Advertised (but uses 2 USB ports)
This wasn't obvious from the product description, but this unit uses 2 usb ports (for supplemental power). That said, it works flawlessly and handles fingerprint recognition much better than I expected. I recently had my laptop and external portable hard drive stolen (with a sychronized copy of my work data - ouch), using this drive will keep me sleeping soundly at night if my hard drive is stolen again....
