Poor reliability I've owned two of these now, and both have failed in less than a year of use. I switched to an OWC Elite drive after the second Lacie tanked. I've only had the OWC two months, but so far so good (though I'd have said the same thing two months into owning the first Lacie). Compared to the Lacie, the OWC has a substantially smaller footprint, and is MUCH quieter. This drive is one of the noisiest I've come across. I really didn't realize just how loud it was until I switched out the second on... –Stratmanfrom Amazon.com

LaCie 1TB external hard drive Excellent external hard drive. I haven't got the one touch button to work yet, but it's probably something easy to fix. The backup software is easy to use and the power saving function is a good idea (though it doesn't kick in if you put th system on standby). –Paul Richard Daviesfrom Amazon.com
