Worked flawlessly out of the box
I have been using this connected via FW800 for about 6 months now with no problems at all. My primary drive gets backed up to this drive every night - it worked perfectly right out of the box...

Works Great with a Mac
I purchased this drive to back up files on my 2.33GhZ 17" Apple laptop. It worked perfectly right out of the box. Plus it looks great. I'm using the SuperDuper freeware utility to back up my files.

won't work at all
I have a Macbook with a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo drive and 2 GB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM running OS X Leopard. I bought this drive about three hours ago. I brought it home, unpacked it, and started it up according to the instructions included in the box. Nothing happened. It will not mount to my desktop. My computer won't recognize it at all so disk utilities has been no help. I searched the Western Digital support website for help and found nothing useful, so I called customer service.
