Best RAID1 I've found so far
Bought four (301256U) for work back when they were over $700 each, now they're a super bargain. The USB and Firewire both work fine with WinXP Pro. The drives keep cool, and they're in removable trays. (When is somebody going to make a nice RAID box that latches in bare drives--getting tired of trays.) We've filled these up with data, streaming 25GB per day over FW800, used them for portable storage. Rock solid over a year now. "User serviceable" with swappable drives.

Very high quality product! Works perfectly!
I bought this drive after trying a less expensive 2TB 2-disk drive. The other, by Cavalry, was a complete disaster. To get it to function required first installing some cheap driver software on my computer that completely destabilized my Windows Vista installation. After many frustrating hours, I uninstalled the crappy drivers, disassembled the case and cannibalized the individual discs so I could use them separately as internal drives for a different computer. 2 bad drives in a row, gave up and requested refund
The first unit arrived with a loose drive lock, it would not engage securely. Amazon sent replacement, which was sealed but not packed correctly, with a rumpled manual and used cords. Called LaCie and asked about the serial number, they admitted it was a customer return that had been sent out for sale as a "new" device!
