12 May 2009 DVR Expander...Awesome! With all of the HD programming available now, this is an awesome way to save many of your shows until you can find the time to watch them. Works great and expands your HD recording on the Scientific Atlanta 8300HD cable box from just under 20 hours to almost 100 HOURS of HD programs. The only risk is that the unit is an external hard drive which is always subject to breaking down without warning. 11 May 2009 Works Great I ordered this because the 1tb drive I bought with a eSATA connection wouldn't work for the Tivo. This worked great. Easy to set up. I have no problem with the drive, my only compliant is with Tivo forcing you to to use one model drive that in today's market is a little over priced and there are plenty of others out there with more storage. –F. 10 May 2009 Western Digital screws consumers First of all, Western Digital gives 3- and 5-year warranties on almost all their hard drives when you buy them as OEM drives. When you purchase anything from them as the retail packaged products they push on consumers at big box retailers and even here on Amazon, they give you a 1-year warranty and charge you more for it.
