another great product from acondata This is my 2nd external hard drive from acomdata. The first one is the 320 gig hard drive. I found this at my local electronics store for 99.99. When I got it home I hooked it up to my laptop running xp via usb. It did not recognize. So I was going to take it back. I was reading some reviews on this. It seems the only way to get your pc to recognize it is via fire wire. The usb connection is for the hub. That's ok though. I have been meaning to get a firewire cable for my laptop. Built-in Hub? Genius! Having a hub with both USB and Firewire ports built into the 500 GB drive has helped me in so many ways. As a Sound Editor in Feature Films, my use for these additional ports have allowed me to use so many drives I need along with my own personal hub. I actually bought a second Acomdata Drive.
