26 Apr 2009Very nice hard drive.Installation was a breeze. It's quiet and fast. Very satisfied with it. I used to be a big Seagate fan, but have been disappointed with my last couple of Seagates. I now put Western Digital as my personal favorite....–Gary Swansonfrom Amazon.com
14 Aug 2008Working Very Well!I'm using this as a second hard drive in my desktop Macintosh. The drive has a sturdy feel to it. I've handled a lot of drives and this one is quite heavy when compared to the other drives I have used. I've had it in everyday use for over a month now and have had no problems at all and I don't expect any. This drive is a good value. When used on a mac you simply plug it in, and turn it on. Then use disk utility in the utilities fold to format the disk and your in business.–R. Andersonfrom Amazon.com
15 Jun 2008Great hardware, but not necessarily plug-and-playThis is an excellect drive; probably about as good as it gets on the EIDE/ATA interface. Big and fast.
But NOTE; this is a BARE DRIVE. You will have to go to the Western Digital website to get the utilities, diagnostics and instructions. And I found the utitlites and instructions weak. Too much reliance on wizards but, if they don't solve your particular problem, no help in doing things "by hand."
Second caveat: If you want to use this drive with a version of Windows before XP-...–P. H. Strongfrom Amazon.com
