Maxtor, You Rule! My 20GB ATA boot drive in my Mac G4, dating from January 2001, had been clicking for some time now, and getting slower and slower. Finally, during a crucial job, it locked up and had to be revived with Norton Disk Doctor. (I keep a spare iBook for just such an emergency.) I needed a new boot drive.

But since I bought this desktop, ATA drives as I knew them have become pretty much obsolete. As one little s*** salesman at a well-known bricks-and-mortar computer store told me, "Times change,... –Kenneth Smithfrom Amazon.com
