Had two die in less than 1 year
One died after 4 months, RMA'ed it for the same model. The second one died after 7 months.
I would AVOID SEAGATE. The drive is NOT quiet at all.
Compared to WD, Seagate is [...]. I took a chance with Seagate after owning mostly WD and Maxtor drives. This was a horrible decision....

fast, reliable, and good priced
I bought this for my Antec Sonata III case, planing on a very quiet pc. I was so a little disapointed on the noice level. As the description says "whisper quiet", it isnt reallt that quiet.
You wouldn't really hear anything if you have your fans making all the noice, but since all my fans are very quiet, I do hear this hard disk above all other, and it was very anoying the first few days. But after a while I got used to it and know dont hear a thing.

quiet & fast, works well
Bought 2 of these for my HP Media Vault after a Western Digital drive failed. They installed easily and run great - no problems so far.
