Worked as expected
I ordered this notebook RAM upgrade kit after looking at several comparable products & reading many reviews. It appeared that this kit offered the bast bang for the buck, &, sure enough, I received it quickly, popped it in my new Compaq notebook to replace the 2GB it shipped with, & it just worked. Caused my system to crash
I will admit that I had not checked the compatibility of this product with my computer before ordering, so it is possible that it was just incompatible. But when installed my computer would not boot and I got the dreaded blue screen of death with a message that advised that a hardware problem was causing a fatal error and that any newly installed hardware should be removed and then try to reboot. I bought this item for my Sony Vaio laptop which is a 32bit and takes upto 4GB of memory. My vista OS shows a 4GB memory but my task manager shows only 3061MB of total memory. what I found strange after upgrading from 2GB to 4 GB before my vaio used to chew up bwt .95 and 1.15GB of memory when on 2GB limit and after I swiched to 4GB it chewed up 2.17GB of memory (while running similar programs).
