Learn About MemoryComputer RAM (Random Access Memory) memory is a type of primary physical storage which is directly connected to the processor and temporarily stores data (in binary form) for retrieval during the time the computer has electrical power. This data consists of the program code and information that is quickly written to and read from the RAM in a way that requires no reading head or physical movement of the memory stick module (random). Standard and generic memory can be used in different brands of machines. Proprietary memory is made specifically for one company and may include memory for their other products, such as printers. Different types of memory modules are based on technology (such as DRAM), number of pins, and storage capacity expressed in bytes: SIMM (30 and 72 pin) for older Intel desktops Other memory: Cache memory for fast processor primary storage Articles and Reviewsarticles
