No one mentions the 3 big faults
I've had a Brother MFC-6490CW for several months. While it has many good qualities, it has 3 bad ones (and one missing feature) everyone should know before sinking money into this.
So far so good.
The printer is everything I wanted so far. It works with OS X and Windows and should work with Linux (and maybe other Unix systems with some work). It has a large flatbed scanner of great quality and has a good automatic document feeder capable of up to A3 or Ledger sized paper. It's also capable of printing to A3 or Ledger sized paper. It comes with tons of good networking features to boot (including wireless) as well as user profiles if you for some reason want some users to do some things...

An amazingly inexpensive replacement for much bigger machines
Our company is involved in manufacturing and we regularly print and distribute technical drawings. Using Ledger sized paper is the only way sometimes to fit the detail we need on a page.
