Requires a WIRED connection to router
I bought this product thinking that, like most any wireless print server, I could use this print server to wirelessly connect my printer to a network. It turns out, this print server requires a wired connection to the LAN, so it was useless for me, because I wanted to use it to connect a downstairs printer to the network, but my router is upstairs. I only gave it 1 star because it was useless to me and now I have to deal with the hassle of mailing it back....

Has worked well since 06/28/2005
We have used this print server since 06/28/2005 for sharing a Canon MP-780 All-in-One, both two-way printer communication and scanner function, over our office ethernet network. It works well, though we use a script we wrote to ease scanner use which tells the Silex printer server to link on starting the scanning software. With the early driver, it was a bit problematic to set up, but the later drivers and firmware (no charge downloads) have improve ease of setup and functionality.

This is it for iMac/Canon MP830 combo
I don't actually own this product, but I just went through a major ordeal trying to network my Canon Pixma MP830 (great printer, BTW) with my Intel iMac, running OS X 10.4, and my old Dell laptop, running XP, through a D-Link DPR-1260 print server. D-Link's info said that the server was compatible with Mac OS X and my printer was on the supported list (for print-only, no scanning). After much hassle and way too much time messing with tech support, D-Link conceded that it was not compatible with ...
