Fast and few problems The world for primary storage will be SSD in a couple of years. I think the vast majority of laptops will shift over within 3 years. I have added 20% or so to the battery and everything is faster. Apps open way faster, my Mac boots way faster. It's a big win.
But this is a Gen 1 product and has some issues. Twice my Mac has just locked up and gone away after sleep. I attribute it to the disk failing to wake up.

Great product once you flash it's firmware PLEASE NOTE: FLASH THIS DRIVE'S FIRMWARE BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING WITH IT!

Regarding an earlier post, I had difficulty upgrading the firmware in Vista 64, UNTIL i booted into Safe mode w/console. Then it flashed just fine. I saw significant performance improvements after upgrading the firmware. SMART was enabled and it solved a serious problem with BSODs after resuming from sleep. Extreme performance, excellent vaue This is the second *high performance* SSD I have purchased - the first was an MTRON 32GB - for $900.

This drive is about 50-100% faster than my MTRON, with ~150 MBps writes and 156 (random) and 201 (seq) MBps reads (256k blocks). Its also about 70% cheaper and has 4x the storage. I am using it in my unibody Macbook.

OCZ publishes firmware updates for this drive, but I didn't install them to get these speeds. The firmware update process pretty much requires a desktop Windows XP comp... –Morimotofrom Amazon.com
