Not perfect, but a decent game
I played this game for 2 months and had a pretty good experience playing it. The players are definitely better than WoW players for the most part. The game itself is running on an old engine which actually degrades in performance if you turn down the graphics, which I still don't understand. There are some minor graphical glitches and other minor bugs in the game, which still need to be ironed out. But, despite the bugs and glitches, it just didn't hold my interest too well. Great fun, some bugs. Gradually improving.
I only started playing through this game a month ago and missed release, due to my WoW habit.
Warhammer Online has a lot going for it and if nothing else, give the free trial a shot and try the PvP experience here to see if it's for you. PvP is much more tactical and complex in WAR than in WoW, other reviewers here are right in pointing out the similarities to Guild Wars. waves of potential
I own and play both WoW and WAR and I don't plan on abandoning either at the moment. They are both GREAT games. Without going into too much detail here's where I think each game has the advantage;
PvE - WoW
PvP - WAR
Graphics - WAR
Gear - WoW
Economy/professions - WoW
Player Classes - WAR (although each side needs another race)
Character customization - WoW
Age/Maturity level - WAR from my experiences so far
