professional quality colored pencils
As a professional illustrator and art teacher, I can tell the difference between mediocre and fine.... Prismacolor is a professional grade manufacturer, provides a rich, smooth color that's easily blended and works well over marker or watercolor. They also make a student-grade which is lower quality and price but still way above average. As an art teacher I have to buy quantity and so can't afford high quality; the only colored pencils that I've found that are decent quality, don't consistently...

A Rainbow of Color and Much More!
This is my second purchase of this set and I couldn't be more pleased! A wonderful variety of colors and they are true to their name. I can definitely see the difference from the cheaper sets. The Prismacolor pencils hold up very well not breaking with the least bit of pressure like the cheaper ones seem to do. They last about twice as long too. Colors are as vivid as you want and as soft. Blending/shading is a snap! I just have to say it again, I couldn't be more pleased!! The box is nice too! ...

Expensive
I bought these pencils on the recommendation of my art instructors because they blend colors very well. I also bought a box of generic pencils from Wal-Mart for about $5. I use the WM ones primarily because I didn't find a dramatic difference in the few drawings that I did.
