MESSY and STAINING
DO NOT BUY THESE IF YOU HAVE CARPET AND FURNITURE YOU WANT TO KEEP!!
They are so soft they flake EVERYWHERE. And these aren't like flecks of crayon that are hard and easy to pick up. They are soft and SMEAR. They smear if you walk over the flakes. LOVE THIS PRODUCT!

The right markers for specific kids
All of the reviews here, though they disagree, are correct.
We have one kid with strength challenges and one without. These are like big cray-pas crayons, very soft, and for kids who develop typically, may not be the right thing to use.
For our other kid, who has "OT" challenges and low strength, he loves them. They are VERY soft and they let him color easily like a big boy. They are the only markers he can really hold correctly and enjoy.
