All plastic :(
I had a similar kit when I was a kid, but was disappointed when I bought this for my daughter, to find that the spools and lacing cards are all plastic. I would have been much happier with wooden spools and sturdy cardboard lacing cards. Also, the plastic needles are pretty much useless because they will not fit through the holes in the lacing cards, which frustrates my 3-year-old....

Excellent Toy for fine motor skills
This toy was purchased for my 8 year old w/ASD including occupational needs. It is an excellent toy to improve ones fine motor skills something that is lacking or difficult for a person with ASD.
