Stopped working
I use this cable to connect my Sony Mini DV Cam to my Windows XP computer.When I first used this product, it worked for about a week. It was pretty neat being able to control (i.e. play, fast-forward, rewind etc...) the cam-corder from my computer. Then it mysteriously stopped working. When I ran the diagnostics everything passed (10 or so separate tests) until the last step when the diagnostics program said the camera was not plugged in (even though it was).

easy connection from your digital video camera to your Mac
This is the way to go for a seamless upload of digital video to your Mac. In my case, the 4-pin end plugs right into my Panasonic digital palmcorder, and the 6-pin end into one of the Firewire ports on the back of my iMac. As soon as you turn on the video camera, iMovie recognizes it and can immediately begin controlling the camera (play, stop, rewind, etc.) and streaming digital video to the iMac hard drive. After a few edits, I'm ready to burn a DVD...
