Zero product quality Stay far away from this one. I had two units fail within one month of using them. Even before they failed completely (and I do mean fail - the latest one won't power on and a DVD is stuck inside), they whirred loudly when being used and sometimes skipped around on different DVDs. 2.5/5 Good if you want a cheap upconverting player. Bad for DVD-R's
My Initial Impression:

I picked this bad boy the other night to replace a Sony DVPNS70H and these were some initial impressions (bare in mind I dont have the tech specs and bitrate math equations to back this up :P I just report what I see with my eyes)

sleek design looks great, feels flimsy. face buttons feel cheap and sometimes require multiple presses to engage. remote works good but must be pointed directly at the unit.

Had promise - but failed quickly After some review - we took a chance and bought this DVD player. Although it worked upon first try, it quickly showed quirks. First, we left a video in the tray for a few days and when we tried to play it - it displayed an error (33). It couldn't turn off to restart so we just unplugged it. It worked again for a few days but just this week we put in a couple of different netflix DVDs and we got severe pixelation. We're returning it.
