Good money down the drain - Deserves ZERO stars!
I wish I'd seen these reviews before I bought this lemon. I thought JVC made a quality product - not so. Soon after purchasing, it stopped recording AND playing DVD's, whether home-recorded OR store-bought. It was still under JVC warranty (parts only). It cost me $125 for labor. I had to argue with the extended warranty company for reimbursement of that expense, to which they finally agreed after I contacted the company that sold me the unit. The repair shop replaced the DVD burner, I brought it...

VERY NICE MACHINE
I believe most of these other responses were submitted by people being compensated by competitors of JVC. I have used my unit almost continuously for more than a year, NEVER had ANY PROBLEMS of any kind. It is built very well and works like a champ. Far superior to the much more expensive Sony it replaced. Bottom line...the Japan Victor Company makes great products that are well designed, solidly reliable and a great value.
