Excellent Piece of Equipment I bought this unit about 6 months ago and it has been working really well. It is simple to operate and the recordings are great. I had two other less expensive DVD/VCR units by (one of them was a Magnavox) but they were really poor quality. I'm glad I paid more to get a quality machine. I should add that I don't have a new, digital TV. I have an older analog TV that keeps chugging along so I don't know how this unit would behave with a more modern TV.... –David A. worked pretty well for a while for the first six months my only complaint was that recorded programs would return to the start after every edit while editing programs recorded on dvd-ram.
Now,however, the disc tray opens almost every time the unit turns on making programmed recordings almost impossible. If turned on manually I can close the disc tray up to 12 times before it stays closed and begins reading the disc. It does this with all types of discs and even with no disc in the tray. Easy set-up and easy to use Bought this for my Mother who wanted a easy to use system in her home. This is perfect. I installed it in just a few minutes, had a quick question for JVC, which they answered promptly over the phone. No problems so far. Perfect for someone who wants just to watch DVD's and videos.
