Getting Less for Your Money
The Audiovox D1998PK does not play VCD. When I called tech support. The response is that it is not a "problem". Their older models can play VCD. It is a marketing and engineering decision not to support it. They give you less-and-less and this is not a problem. This is good management and marketing skills. Don't buy from Audiovox, you can find a better DVD player elsewhere....

Charging cord problem
Purchased this at our local Costco. Used only once or twice, then a tiny piece of plastic on the adapter (the piece that attaches to the DVD player to charge it) on the charging cord broke (not dropped or otherwise traumatized) and now I cannot find a replacement. The quality of the actual DVD player was great. I bought this to replace the older model Audiovox we'd had for >5 years (and had finally worn itself out!) Very disappointed in the quality of the adapter.
