If you need this type recorder stop reading and buy!
This little recorder is very cost effective and performs perfectly. It is very reasonable but hard to find. Be sure the seller you pick actually has it in stock. It took me three tries to get it because I was trying to save another buck or two. Don't price hunt. Find the sure thing. You will be very happy. If you record from TV the screen editor is superior to any recorder I ever used regardless of price. It even allows a preview before committing to the edit....

Outstanding Value!
This recorder has done a fantastic job and performed far beyond my expectations. In about two weeks I've transferred nearly 100 cassettes to DVDr and had no problems at all. Very barebones and efficient. No complications with media to date.

1 Big Problem
This is advertised as having pass-through rear input jacks. Not true. The S-video does not pass signal through even though it has both in and out S-video jacks. I wasted an hour trying to figure out the problem plus shipping costs plus time waiting for this unit to arrive. Three calls to technical support was a waste. They knew less about the unit than I did. I'll try another brand.
