02 Nov 2008 Great product overall with a few annoyances I've rated this a 4 overall because I'm mostly pleased with the product. I'm glad that I made the purchase (especially from Amazon) and have no plans to return or otherwise discontinue use. However, there are a few things that annoy me about the setup and operation that I will outline below. Short of these little items, I would have rated it a 5.

Setup:

01 Nov 2008 It's OK - if wired If you plan to use this on a wired network and you have a Media Center Vista computer (and you plan to record TV on the Vista machine, or you plan to play AVI files that are located on the Vista machine) then run, don't walk, and buy this.

If you have a wireless network with a Broadcom-chipset based router, and you plan to use that wireless N network, strongly consider this router.

31 Oct 2008 Network problem fixed I am writing this in case anyone is having the same problem I had getting the extender to work on a wireless network. I am using a Linksys WRT54G wireless router/access point - this works fine for me, since I have a Dish Network PVR and have no intention of streaming HD over the network. I bought this mainly to view pictures and homemade videos as well as listen to music stored on my PC. I spent half the day trying to get the extender connected reliably to the network.
