Provided the few features I really needed, and sounds good too!
Well, my application for this technology is a bit different from most, so I may as well tell my story here.
I like to watch DVDs while I walk on my treadmill, so I have a flat panel on the wall above the treadmill and the speakers very close to me too. The problem is that every time I wanted to tweak the volume (and I really prefer not to wear headphones) I had to jump off the treadmill, run over to my stereo, and jump back on the treadmill.

Best inexpensive HDMI equipped "non-japanese" quality receiver!
I consider myself an "audiophile" by all rights with my downstairs system costing in the $30-$40,000 price range (although price doesn't necessarily equate to quality but my separate components are amazing and were hand picked over years of trial & error). This receiver though is for my daily upstairs system where the family watches tv and occasionally a movie together during the day or early evening and we do like the sound to be good through our 5.1 "upstairs" system too.
