Hi Def, Low Fi
Overall, I would rate this system as fair, and would not recommend it. Although it's got many nice features (like the I Pod attachment) the sound quality lacks volume and impact. For low volume background music, it's acceptable. But for action movies like I like to watch, it's very weak.

After searching extensively for a home theather system that would have the best bang for the buck, I decided on the Onkyo S7000 7.1 system. I have had this now for a couple of months, and the I couldn't be more pleased with the system.
Sound is awesome, more so when watching BlueRay movies. I would recommend changing out the speaker wires, change to 14 guage or so (monoprice has the best deal). Subwoofer is big and has very good sound output. The 7 speaker system is probably overkill for...

Great bang for the buck- audio AND video HDMI pass-through!
I bought this particular model because it was supposed to have 1.3 HDMI with audio and video pass-through. This model does that very nicely with no signal artifact or interference. The recceiver looks just like the Onkyo flagship receivers. The speakers are very nice looking and sound nice for a boxed system. All in all, I am pleased with the performance. The DTS-HD sounds great and works well with the PS3 playing Blu-Ray. For under $750, it is a really good buy.
