Nice reception; QC is a bit weak though
I like this unit's performance and Sangean's commitment to AM radio. The black model is a bit pricey and next time I would get the wood grain.
I have deducted one star because the brand new remote control does not work (yes, I checked the battery) and I've deducted another star because the painted black finish chipped up very easily....

this is NOT a HD radio, too expensive.
I have heard enough about HD radio, so I saved enough gift certificates, and finally bought this "new" "digital" radio.
when I opened the package from amazon.com. I ordered a white one, but the package box is for the walnut color. i thought that i got lucky, because it costs a little extra for the walnut color. but inside, it is still the white radio. When I turned on the radio, all five preset buttons have already been set to my local radio stations. So obviously, amazon sent me a used ...

Excellent audio performance
I use the Sangean WR-2 in my kitchen, and only as a radio. I like the reception that the radio gets, its outstanding sound and the convenient remote control. I have not yet used its alarm features. I also own a far more expensive, yet similar, radio, the Bose Wave radio that I keep in my office. In my opinion, the Sangean WR-2 holds its own on all three counts. The Bose is more attractive looking (less box-like), and I prefer its digital readout, but otherwise the Sangean has performed to th...
