Sound is good
I have this going in my kitchen as I cook. The sound is surprisingly good for such a small piece of equipment. I wanted a digital input for the stations. As easy as my car radio....

Sangean Portable Radio
Nice compact radio that has good battery life and powerfull reception. Would be better if it had back lighting (like Indiglow) instead of side light which does not light up the whole area very well. (Bright on side near light, dim on the opposite). Has TV channel reception, but that will go away with digital TV. (Knew that, however, when I bought it.) Retractable earbuds are nice.

Good for hard-to-reach channels
I bought this radio for my 6 year old son for Christmas. He loves to listen to Radio Disney but the cheap transistor radio I had in my house was unable to pick up the local signal. This radio did the trick as other reviewers had suggested! He is able to clearly pick up the signal and carries the radio around with him in whichever room he happens to be playing.
