UNIDEN MODEL # GMN2889 PURCHASED THEM FOR A CRUISE, SINCE WE WERE A LARGE GROUP AND WOULD BE ALL OVER THE SHIP, UNLESS YOU WERE PLACING THE WALKIE TALKIE AGAINS YOUR EAR, YOU COULD NOT REACH OUT FOR THE PARTY THAT WERE CARRING THE UNITS. THE VOICE OR THE PRESSING OF THE NOTIFICATION BUTTON WAS NOT LOUD ENOUGH OR ABLE TO ATTRACT THE ATTENTION OF THE RECEIVER OR THE PARTIES WHO WERE HOLDING THE PRODUCT.. Good call I just bought these for some snowboarding in Colorado. 9 of us went out there and were spread out all over the mountain. My radios were never out of contact and were always able to make a call. Also, I should note that we used them all day and they never ran out of battery as long as I charged them at night.

My only gripe is that the belt clip is too lose for extreme sports, so I had to put it on my jacket.

Great product They give nice range about a mile and the half in the city. At The Park you can get few miles pretty easly. A lot of features and the privacy codes which i like in these radios. These radios pretty easy to use, nice clear voice and so far i never had any enterferance. For the price you get realy awesome radios. Plus transmitting on FRS channels are FREE !!!
